In the next phase of the competition, the poorest two teams from the Elite pool will face the best two teams from the Challenger pool. The top two performers from the Elite pool will then advance to the semi-finals to compete for a place in the finals. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for the bronze medal, whereas the victors, along with the two finalists, will qualify for the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup, which will be contested in Oman in 2024.
