Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a video address on March 15, 2023 that he is willing to appear in court on March 18, as clashes between his supporters and police continued for a second day. Police hit Khan supporters with batons and threw tear gas canisters at them, with some canisters landing on the lawns of Khan’s house. A lower trial court in the capital Islamabad had issued the arrest warrant for Khan, accusing him of unlawfully selling state gifts while he was in power from 2018 to 2022. He has denied the allegations.
