The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday received a petition challenging the acquittal of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and central leader HamzaShehbaz in a money laundering case.
MirzaShahzad Akbar, the former PM’s adviser on interior, filed the petition through advocate HaroonIlyas, claiming that 28 benami accounts and 15,000 transactions, amounting to Rs16 billion, were discovered during the case inquiry. Despite presenting a 4,000-page charge-sheet with 100 witnesses, both Shehbaz Sharif and HamzaShehbaz were acquitted in the Islamabad Accountability Court.
