Elahi denied bail in hiring case

An anti-corruption court (ATC) in Lahore has rejected the bail application of PTI President and former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi in a case pertaining to illegal hiring in the Punjab Assembly.

The former Punjab chief minister has been accused of illegally appointing Muhammad Khan Bhatti as principal secretary in the Punjab Assembly.

The prosecution sought the dismissal of the bail application. After hearing the arguments of the lawyers, the court rejected Elahi’s bail plea.
