The reasons why Pakistanis are forced to take the life-threatening journey to Europe are multifaceted. Economic crisis, political instability, and violence and persecution are all factors that contribute to the problem. Until these issues are addressed, it is likely that we will continue to see tragedies like the one that occurred off the coast of Italy. Governments around the world must work together to provide support to those who are struggling in Pakistan and other countries like it, in order to prevent more people from being forced to take such dangerous journeys in the future.
